Flesh or consciousness? This physical fleshy material body has no basis or foundation. There is no understanding, no knowledge, no fulfillment. There is a deep source of misery. It is based on faulty judgment.

The basic symptom of the Absolute Truth is absent in this material body. What is the symptom of the Absolute Truth? Or the characteristics of the Absolute Truth? Satyam, Sivanam, Sundaram – Truth, Beauty and Auspiciousness.

At the end of the Srimad Bhagvatam, Sukadev Goswami made a revolutionary remark. He told Maharaj Parikshit, “You are going to die… in 7 days you will be finished. But I declare that you do not die. Give up that consciousness. Don’t allow yourself to come down to material consciousness. Material consciousness is animal consciousness – pasu buddhi.

“To be consciousness of these material things, consciousness of flesh, of matter, of bodies, of blood relations… this is equal to animal consciousness… Don’t allow yourself, Parikshit, to come down from the cent percent spiritual area. Live in the conscious area, the eternal conscious area.”

Everything is floating on consciousness. Spiritual consciousness is a basic sum-stratum of everything. It is fundamental.

Everything is actually a product of consciousness. Is maintained for sometime by the action of consciousness and then it comes to an end. Consciousness is the basic substance. Don’t come down to bestial  consciousness. Matter or material consciousness is only a minor part floating on the ocean of consciousness.
